“Au Naturel”

This piece was sparked into creation whilst I was sitting in a foyer waiting for an appointment. In the foyer there was a beautiful blank wall across the other side of the room, so while I waited I looked at all the surrounding decor and formed the perfect painting in my mind to hang on that wall. It passed the time quickly, and I liked what was in my head so much that I decided to create it!
It’s a striking artwork of neutrals and natural colours. The light blue hues hint at a late afternoon or early morning sky, dusted with misty clouds, whilst the foliage greens, yellows and branch like arrangements imply trees and shrubs. It has golden glitter seams throughout, which create a magical warmth. I love the natural colour palette, it is soft and flowing, and yet it has enough “oomph” to hold your attention. It was an absolute joy to paint, as I could just relax into the flow of the brushstrokes.
